Print a Report
Use print when users need a readable document of the current report. Pivot produces an HTML table with grouped headers, formatted values and totals; your application owns the document title, branding and print dialog.
Try the printable result
Section titled “Try the printable result”Preview a printable report
Create a printable table from the current Pivot report.
Try it: Compare the printable table with the grid, then inspect the print HTML.
What to notice: The print output keeps the report headers and number formatting.
Compare the printable table with the grid, including totals and currency formatting. Choose Inspect print HTML to see the generated table markup. The example previews the result; the application opens its own print surface when the user chooses Print.
Build the print content
Section titled “Build the print content”const html = pivot.buildPrintTable();// Mount html in the application's trusted print surface.// The application invokes window.print() in that surface when the user chooses Print.pivot is the installed PivotPlugin. The generated table escapes source/header text. Do not concatenate untrusted application text as raw HTML around it.
The returned table uses the measure’s display formatting. CSV and XLSX retain raw numeric precision; see export data.
Print versus PDF export
Section titled “Print versus PDF export”Pivot does not create PDF bytes or open windows automatically. Users can choose Save as PDF in the browser’s print dialog. Pivot Charts export has a separate image/vector export workflow.
In server-side mode, printing the loaded report does not fetch omitted groups. Use complete remote export when every authorized summary is required.
